For Throw Back Thursday, here is a picture of a pillow made from a Pineapple quilt block.

This was intended as a Christmas pillow, and therefore is made using red, green and white fabrics.

The Pineapple quilt block really pops with just the right placement of light and dark value fabrics. 

I called this pillow Peppermint Candy.

Holiday Gift Ideas

Free Tutorial Tuesday - Fabric Cane Cover

Today's free tutorial is for a fabric cane cover.

The inspiration for this project came from a recent trip to visit my dad who was recovering from several surgeries, in a rehabilitation center.  While I was there, I noticed there  were a lot of people walking with canes. I love fabric and I thought it would be nice to take a small piece of fabric and make a cane cover! A fabric cane cover can be holiday/seasonal, color coordinated with an outfit or a reflection of a mood or hobby.

This pattern includes french seams which prevents raveling through regular use or washing.

And the cane cover can be embellished with beads, buttons, crystals, bells, bows - the possibilities are endless!

With elastic top and bottom, this fabric cane cover slips on and off easily and quickly.  Everyone with a cane needs a fabric cane cover!

Throw Back Thursday - Bow Tucks Tote

I love the Bow Tucks Tote pattern!  Over the past 5 years, between personal totes and gifts, I've made about 20 of these totes.  The instructions are thorough and easy to follow, and these totes go together very quickly.  The look can be totally different based on fabric choices.  Here are just a few of the ones I've made.
